Sports/Deep Tissue Massage 

Sports massage is not just for athletes, it is beneficial to non-athletes too! It is a recommended massage to have both pre or post an event, encouraging a faster recovery, promoting muscle growth and relieving muscle soreness.  This massage can help to prevent injuries by increasing the range of movement, improving muscle strength, increasing  flexibility and improve posture.  It can also help with preventing the build up of scar tissue from muscles that have been over worked.  During and after the massage the body will release neurotransmitters called endorphins, these are the bodies natural pain relievers, which will aid muscle recovery.
Trigger Point Therapy and Neuromuscluar Techniques will be used by applying direct pressure to the area until the tension is released, this will help the muscles to relax and increase blood flow to the site of discomfort. This treatment will include passive stretching of various parts of the body, which will increase the range of movement in both the muscles and the joints. After a single session, you’ll start to see changes to your body, mind and energy levels.

Relaxation Massage

Full relaxing body massage will release tension and stress from the body and mind, as well as improve your mental well being.  Can help to decrease symptoms associated with anxiety, depression and can aid a good nights sleep.  This massage will increase blood and lymph circulation within the body to promote healthier looking skin and help with the removal of the build up of toxins and waste.  You will leave feeling very relaxed and tranquil.


Hot Stone Massage

Flat, smooth natural basalt stones formed from volcanic rock are used as they naturally retain the heat.  The heat from the stones work through deeper layers of muscle tissue which will ease muscle stiffness, stress and tension whilst creating natural pain relief. The heat will help to expand the blood vessels which encourages an increased blood flow throughout the body.  This massage will increase circulation, metabolism, pulse rate and lymph function which will speed up the removal of the build up of waste and toxins. This is a hands-on body treatment that can leave patients feeling relaxed and renewed. It is a treatment that primarily works on the feet, although it can also be used on the hands and ears too.  There is evidence to suggest that Reflexology has been practised in China and Egypt since around 2330BC.  During a Reflexology treatment, the feet are warmed up through massage, pressure is applied to the reflex points in the foot.  Reflexology aims to help the body's own healing process and bring about a state of relaxation.  The treatment aims to unblock any energy pathways which will allow the energy to flow freely again to help restore balance in the body.
